    Setup requirements

    WARNING!

Danger from machines falling or toppling over.

This can result in serious personal injury and damage to property.

Place equipment on an even, firm floor in such a way that it remains stable, or ensure that it is located securely on a swivel pin.

    Start-up

    Safety

    WARNING!

    Danger from electric current.

An electric shock can be fatal. If TIG power sources or the PlasmaModule 10 are plugged into the mains electricity supply during installation, there is a high risk of very serious injury and damage.

No work must be carried out unless the mains switches on the TIG power source and PlasmaModule 10 are in the „O“ position

No work must be carried out unless the TIG power source and PlasmaModule 10 are disconnected from the mains power supply.

Fitting interconnecting hosepack to the Plasma-Module holder

Feeding in the interconnecting hosepack components
1Feed the components of the interconnecting hosepack through the hosepack bushing into the PlasmaModule holder in the following order:
    a) Power cable
    b) Control lead
    c) Water pipes

IMPORTANT! The power cable must protrude at least 500 mm out of the hosepack.

Pushing back the strain relief device and hosepack
2Only if the power cable protrudes less than 500 mm out of the hosepack:
    • Loosen screw (1) on the interconnecting hosepack strain relief device (2)
    • Push strain relief device and hosepack back until the power cable protrudes at least 500 mm out of the hosepack
    • Re-tighten screw on the strain relief device
    Fitting the strain relief device
3Fit interconnecting hosepack strain relief device to the PlasmaModule holder using 3 Taptite M5 x 16 mm screws

    Fitting the power cable

Feeding the power cable through bushing
1Feed power cable through the power cable bushing so that the power cable protrudes approx. 10 mm out of the PlasmaModule holder.
Fastening the power cable using fastening clamp
2Fasten power cable to the Plasma-Module holder using fastening clamp and 4 Taptite M5 x 10 mm screws

Connecting hoses, leads and pipes of the interconnecting hosepack

    Connecting the control cable
1Connect control cable of interconnecting hosepack to torch control extension
Routing the control cable around the swivel pin socket
2Route control cable and torch control extension around the swivel pin socket
    Connecting the water hoses
3Connect water pipes of the interconnecting hosepack to the water pipes on the PlasmaModule holder according to the coloured markings.

    Fitting the side panels

    1Fit each side panel using 5 Taptite M5 x 10 mm screws

Place Plasma-Module holder on swivel pin

Removing the rear slide rails (1) when fitting to twinhead mount

IMPORTANT! If fitting the PlasmaModule holder to the twin-head mount: remove the rear left-hand and right-hand slide rails (1) from the underside of the PlasmaModule holder

Positioning the swivel pin holder over the swivel pin
1 Position PlasmaModule holder with the swivel pin socket directly above the swivel pin
2 Lower swivel pin socket onto swivel pin
Fixing the swivel pin holder to the swivel pin
3If possible fix PlasmaModule holder to the swivel pin using M8 x 20 mm hexagon nut

Connecting PlasmaModule holder to Plasma-Module 10

Connecting PlasmaModule holder to PlasmaModule 10

Only if PlasmaModule 10 flow watchdog is installed:

1Remove cover from underside of PlasmaModule 10
2Pull plug out of PlasmaModule 10
3Connect PlasmaModule 10 flow watchdog plug to PlasmaModule 10 plug
    4Place PlasmaModule 10 onto Plasma-Module holder
    5Fasten PlasmaModule 10 to Plasma-Module holder using 4 Taptite M5 x 16 mm screws
