Observe national standards and directives.

Only carry out the safety inspection when the device is fully assembled.

Requirements

Installation kit PM43 must be already installed in the VR 1550 in order to add the CMT VR 1550 installation kit.

Fitting the CMT VR 1550 installation kit

Preparations

1Turn the welding machine mains switch to the "O" position
2Unplug the welding machine from the mains
3Disconnect all system components connected to the VR 1550
4Remove the TX25 screws from the side panel
5Remove the side panel from the control unit

2Unplug the welding machine from the mains
3Disconnect all system components connected to the VR 1550
4Remove the TX25 screws from the side panel

Fitting the CMT VR 1550 installation kit - rear

1Remove the rubber cover (1) from the red socket
2Remove the two TX20 screws (2) and (3)
3Pull the red socket inside the housing
4Remove blanking cover (4)
5Fit the red socket to the new opening using two TX20 screws (2) and (3)
6Refit rubber cover (1)
7Fit LHSB connecting lead (5) (with plastic plate) to top opening using two 4x8 mm T20 screws (6) and (7)
8Undo screw (9)
9Connect LHSB connecting lead earth cable (8) to housing using the screw (9)

1Remove blanking covers (1) and (2)
2Unscrew 19 mm hexagonal nut (3) from LHSB IN cable (5)
3Fit M12 adapter plate (4) to LHSB IN cable (5)
4Secure M12 adapter plate (4) using 19 mm hexagonal nut (3)
5Fit wire buffer cable harness (7) to the top opening from the inside
6Fit wire buffer cable harness (7) to housing using two 4x8 mm Taptite screws
7Fit LHSB IN cable (5) to lower opening from the inside
8Fit LHSB IN cable (5) to housing using two M8x10 mm Taptite screws
  1. Fitting the CMT VR 1550 installation kit

Connecting the CMT VR 1550 installation kit

IMPORTANT! The PM 43 installation kit is required in order to use the CMT VR 1550 installation kit.

Only if installation kit PM43 has not yet been fitted to the VR 1550:

1Install and connect installation kit PM43 to the VR 1550 according to the relevant installation instructions
2Remove cable ties (1) and (2)
3Connect open cable end (4) to X3 on the PM43 PC board
4Disconnect cable (3) from X5 on the SR43 PC board
5Connect cable (6) from wire buffer connection to X5 on the SR43 PC board
6Connect the open cable end (5) from the wire buffer connection to the cable (3)
7Connect the LHSB cable to the SR43 PC board:
  • LHSB IN cable (8) to "SLAVE"
  • LHSB connecting lead (7) to "MASTER"‏

Finally...

1Fix cable using cable ties (1) and (2)

NOTE!

While fitting the side panel to the control unit, ensure that cables are not trapped or damaged in any way.

3Put VR 1550 back into the welding system
